Boomerang Software presents a slot machine entitled Fruit Gemz Splitz, where you may get your gem on. Fruit Gemz Splitz is a true milkshake of inspirations and features, and it was released in collaboration with numerous studios like ReelPlay and Yggdrasil. Included are the coin-collecting Splitz and Side Strike features, as well as the respinning Lightning Chase mechanism. Adding a bunch of additions can improve a recipe sometimes, but more often than not, it just makes a watery, flavorless mess. Let’s find out where Fruit Gemz Splitz stands on this issue.
The beginning of Fruit Gemz Splitz is shaky at best. Boomerang seems to have been going for an AvatarUX CherryPop vibe, but the end result is more cheesier than the slot made by its competitor. Fruit crystals form a grid for a 5-reel slot machine in front of a spacey backdrop. A frothy, pink, or purple confection. The music tries to add to the space theme, but it’s so soft and soothing that even an avid fan of ambient music would nod off. Overall, the images, which are striving for fruity energy, and the soundtrack, which is attempting to calm people down, are at odds with one another.
Bets may be adjusted from 25 pence up to £/€50 per spin by clicking the hamburger symbol in the bottom-right corner. The Side Strike button is located on the other side of the display. Choose to make a side wager on either red or green overlay chips by pressing here. You can choose to disregard this if you choose; it’s not required. While the remainder of the game has a typical return value of 95.5%, it can be found at three lesser settings, the RTP for Side Strike is a quite high 98%.
The reels in this medium-volatility slot machine total 15, with the three main reels and an additional row of symbols above reels 2, 3, and 4. To win, you need at least three identical symbols to appear on adjacent reels, beginning with the first. This configuration offers 576 win ways, which may rise to a maximum of 19,773 with symbol splitting. The cascade feature eliminates winning symbols from the reels and replaces them with symbols that fall from above, either onto the central reels or onto the top reel from the right. If a new win happens, the cascade will start again, and so on, until no more wins occur.
The lowest paying symbols are the playing card suits (hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades), which pay just 0.4x the wager for a full house, followed by the fruit symbols (watermelons, grapes, lemons, and cherries), which pay 1-2x the bet for a full house. Finally, the game’s logo acts as a wild, replacing all other symbols except for the scatter. Wilds appear on every reel except the first one.
Slot Feature: Fruit Gems Splitz
The Splitz icon is another hidden bonus in Fruit Gems Splitz. When a Splitz appears on reels 2, 3, or 4 of the main game, it will turn into 2, 3, or 4 more copies of the same symbol (save for the collect symbol).
Collect
Coins and Collects are two more interesting relics. When a Collect icon falls on reel 1 at the same time as Coins ranging in value from 1x to 888x the wager, the player is immediately credited with all of the Coins.
Option to Hold and Respin
If there are six or more Coins visible, you get three respins; if any further Coins or Collects land, you get three respins again. Coins are fixed in place until a Collect sign lands, at which point all values are collected and the Coins are removed from the grid, making room for brand new Coins to be dropped. Cash payouts range from 1x to 10x the wager, with the option of a 20x, 100x, or 888x wager with the Mini, Major, or Mega bonus, respectively.
Slot Review: Fruit Gems Splitz
The several z’s in the name “Fruit Gemz Splitz” may grate on your nerves if you’re the type to fix spelling errors, grammatical mistakes, and the like when you’re browsing the internet. However, after you get over the game’s title, you’ll find that the rest of it isn’t that exciting, either. As was mentioned, Fruit Gemz Splitz came off as a shoddy knockoff of CherryPop and never recovered from that impression. It’s a boring slot that doesn’t add anything to Boomerang’s Lightning Chase series.
Fruit Gemz Splitz doesn’t seem terrible when you read about it. It has the Splitz expanding wilds, the Coin collect for fans of the genre, and the Hold & Respins feature on top. However, in actual use, it never even reached second gear. Perhaps a more polished production would have helped Fruit Gemz Splitz make a more lasting impact and prevented the game from looking clumsier and older than it actually is. Before Fruit Gemz Splitz, in the Lightning Chase series, games had a more contemporary aesthetic. Similar to Rise of the Valkyrie Splitz, Fruit Gemz Splitz lacks the Spin 10 Splitz function, the eye-catching Valkyrie aesthetics, and has a lesser return to player percentage. The Lightning Chase series has expanded beyond only the original Valkyrie game, including titles like Temple Frenzy Lightning Chase and Lady Merlin Lightning Chase. Fruit Gemz Splitz is one of the worst video slots among a group of games with some connections to each other.
However, it’s not all terrible news. If you need a little help falling asleep, why not try playing a few games of Fruit Gemz Splitz? With better solutions just a mouse click away, Fruit Gemz Splitz doesn’t seem particularly useful outside of a calming effect.
